Unreal Tournament 2004 map #11
Long ago, when time began and the universe was first taking form, the kingdoms of the
elements of Earth and Air had made a truce and existed together in peace for countless
millenia. But warring continued between the kingdoms of the elements of Fire and
Water. Fire did persist to scorch Water, and Water held on to its power to
extinguish Fire. Fire and Water believed that the winning kingdom would rise to be
the fifth element: Aether.

| Notes |
- Due to the very high
amount of detail a high-end computer is recommended.
- All Unreal Tournament ('99) and Unreal II content in this map was converted by me.
- The angel mesh is from CTF-FaceClassic, modified by me.
- The music is from Unreal II.
- Four software applications were used in the creation of this terrain including custom
in-house developed software.
- Low end PCs should turn off the Foliage option (terrain deco layers) and set their World
Detail level to Normal or Low, for an increase in game framerate.
- For extra game fun, be sure to try the following mutators with this map: LowGravity.
- Server admins may remove the screenshots and music file from the zip for a smaller
server-push map file.
Map Specifics:
- 2 Flags (of course).
- Weapon loadout: Assault, Bio, Flack, Link, Mini, Grenade, Shock, Rocket, Sniper.
Plus two extra ammo packs located near each weapon.
- Health, Shield, SuperHealth and SuperShield are available on the map.
- The Double-Damage is on the map.
- Custom SuperAdrenaline and MegaAdrenaline are on the map.
- Redeemer is on the map.
- Plus as always a few easter eggs. |
| Bugs |
None.
The custom scripted fish and birds creatures do not have collision or check for colliding
with world objects for performance reasons. So at times you may see a fish pass
through a stone etc.
Note that the main lake is an xProcMesh and not a FluidSurfaceInfo.
This was chosen for two reasons: the xProcMesh is almost one quarter the number of
triangles resulting in an 8% improvement in framerate, plus it fixes the usual
FluidSurfaceInfo stone deco z-draw errors.
The downside to the xProcMesh is that it does not support player or projectile waves. |
