Unreal Tournament (UT99) Map No. 6
DG Io is a test in creating more realistic terrains for outside battles. This map
includes plenty of custom textures, scripted objects and cool effects such as
environmental falling meteors. A fast computer and video accelerator is recommended.

Deep within our solar
system, heavy battles rage on the moons of Jupiter.
Heated from the nearby planet, the moon Io sustains life... and death. |
| Design |
A test of the UT Engine's
BSP Terrain system. This was a lot of work to implement as the BSP Terrain tends to
create invisible collision hulls on the map. A lot of time was spent simply walking
along every cut line checking for collisions and adjusting the terrain to remove it.
The map was designed so that it could be available in both DM and CTF versions.

This map requires a
high-end system due to the large bsp created by the terrain.
I may one day create better edge-matching and blending terrain textures.
I may also create a Capture the Flag version of this map one day. |
