HMCS Heightmap Conversion Software
HMCS is a well-featured Unreal Engine heightmap file conversion and manipulation utility.
It features support for a wide range of file formats including 8-bit and 16-bit integer
heightmap, digital elevation model, 3D mesh, and raster image (grayscale and color).
Supports 16x16 through 512x512 heightmap sizes with grayscale and color preview.
Heightmaps may be any supported power-of-two dimension including rectangular, eg: 256x128.
Editing tools include interpolation, resampling, scaling, stitching, rotation, cropping,
and more.

* Note that some file formats are not supported for both open and save, and some file
formats are limited in the file versions and types that can be opened.

Although it is not required, studios that use HMCS for commercial purposes may credit
"Tools by David R. Green" or similar on shipped titles.
System Requirements
· Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP (Home or Professional)
· 512MB RAM or more
· 10MB Hard Drive space for the software
· 24-bit or 32-bit color video display at 800x600 or higher resolution
· Keyboard and Mouse
Installation
1. Download the zip file.
2. Create a folder on your computer at "C:\Program Files\HMCS\".
3. Unzip the entire contents of the zip file into this folder.
4. Create a shortcut to the HMCS.exe file on your Start Menu.
The minimal required files you must unzip includes:
- hmcs.exe
- hmcs.ini
If the following two VB5 files are not already in your Windows System32 folder
from other applications you may be running, then also unzip and copy these two files to
the HMCS folder along with the exe and ini. They do not have to be located
in the Windows System folder.
- comctl32.ocx
- msvbvm50.dll
Depending on your system, you may also require the following files, however they should be
in the standard Windows System32 folder on every computer as they are default OS
files. They are not included in this zip as they should be in every Windows 2000 and
XP OS.
- msimg32.dll
- shfolder.dll
- shlwapi.dll
HMCS does not modify the Windows Registry or place other files on to your computer.
To remove the software, simply delete the HMCS folder and its contents.
Notes
This software was developed for in-house studio use, therefore not all of the functions
are working or completed. This includes the Undo system, Zoom, and some of the file
format Import/Export are not complete or fully working.
